Diamond Nokia E71 - $12,685

Described as the ultimate workhorse, the Diamond Nokia E71 has been overhauled with 3.0 ct V51 diamonds. Who says you can’t shine at work!

Diamond Studded Nokia E71
Here’s one for rappers as well as those who love walking around with plenty of bling in their pockets – the diamond-studded Nokia E71 from Continental Mobiles. Exclusively hand-tailored in England, it comes with an added advantage over a vanilla Nokia E71 – you can always pawn it off in times of financial crisis, as it is finished in VS1-grade diamonds. Of course, you could get a decent family sedan for the price of this, but hey, if you think splashing £5,999 for this puppy is worth every cent, who are we to stop you? Would be nice to see Continental Mobiles keep up with the times and come up with a diamond studded E75 though.

Only 25 of these have been made. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, than you’ll be the proud owner of an 18 carat solid gold mobile phone, encrusted with 658 diamonds.

The Nokia N95 is already a multi-functional smartphone by itself, and what better way to increase its desirability than to throw a whole bunch of diamonds on it? What you see above is the result of such an extravagant imagination, done up by Alexander Amosu. This exclusive limited edition diamond Nokia N95 8GB will be limited to just 10 in the whole wide world, and each handset is adorned with 18 carat solid white gold with 325 diamonds, boasting a total diamond weight of 3.30 carats. Be prepared to fork out *cough cough* slightly less than a quarter of a hundred thousand dollars for this ultra-luxurious smartphone – $24,482 to be exact.

Nokia 8800 Arte With Pink Diamond
Nokia 8800 Arte With Pink Diamond

An ultimate birthday present for the lucky lady in your life, this solid 18k white gold Nokia 8800 is embellished with over 680 pink and white cut diamonds totalling over 21.5 carats. Designer Peter Aloisson must have been in a giving mood when he designed this.

This phone is certainly worth the price it comes for.  This luxury cell phone comes for a price of more than 85,000 pounds. This was all about Nokia 8800 Arte. Make sure you consider purchasing this phone. It could really help you leave a lasting impression on your friends. Read this article at least once.

If you have a cool $156,000 dollars to spare than you could be the proud owner of the Nokia Supreme, designed and crafted by Stuart Hughes. Approximately 1225 individually set sparkling gems are accompanied by 12.5K of Pink diamonds. That’s not even mentioning the solid hallmarked platinum handmade veneers & 8 platinum screws.

Luxury cellphone maker Gresso keeps churning out more and more expensive handsets. With their first models they were content with African Blackwood and some golden plating on the back. Then came Gresso Avantgarde Sol collection, with the keypad keys made from gold.
But there ain’t no luxury handset out there, that can be made exclusive and expensive enough for a proper millionaire. Still Gresso seems to try real hard.
This this time they decided to replace golden keys with diamonds. And no ordinary diamonds, but extremely rare and expensive black diamonds to boot.
gresso-black-diamond.jpg
Their first attempt Gresso Avantgarde Black Diamonds phone (on the right) is a valid try. For just a 9000 Euro you get your African Blackwood phone with golden keypad and four navigation keys replaced wit black diamonds. But it’s really nothing special, I say.
If you want to be a real show-off, you should opt for Gresso Avantgarde Royal Black Diamonds edition.
In this phone all your keypad keys will be made from black diamonds of 2.53K. And, because these gems are rare enough, only 50 pieces of this Royal handset will be made ever.
So what’s 30 000 Euro for the piece of exclusivity only 50 people in the world can have?

Looks like the Nokia 8800 keeps coming out with new special editions. First it was The Gold Edition Nokia 8800 Phone, with a 24 karat skin as well as special charging station. I’m sure Goldfinger would have loved to get his hands on this before he pulled off his grand scheme of blowing up an atomic bomb inside Fort Knox.
Nokia 8800 Sirocco Lamborghini Limited Edition
Speaking of Goldfinger, the company has recently released a phone based on the type of car of that film, the Aston Martin. The Nokia 8800 Aston Martin Limited Edition, which was just the 8800 with the Aston Martin logo. I suppose James Bond would have bought this up if Q hadn’t given him a phone with a laser.
No wonder that Nokia 8800 Phone Wins Red Dot Design Award. After all, it has a sweet stainless steel and mineral glass design. The Nokia 8800 now has another special edition to brag about with the Nokia 8800 Lamborghini Sirocco phone. Like the previously mentioned Aston Martin, this guy has the award-winning style with the famous Lamborghini logo engraved. It also looks like ball bearings from the auto company to make the slider phone possible. (I wonder if it makes it slide better than the other Nokia 8800s out there?)
Let us not forget its phone uses as well. It has tri-band GSM coverage for up to five continents, as well as 128 MB of internal memory. Like its color TFT display, protected by scratch-resistant sapphire coated glass. It also has a 2 megapixel camera, as well as an integrated digital MP3 player. This is in addition to Bluetooth, xHTML browsing, Instant Messaging, video streaming services, as well as data transfer over EDGE, GPRS, or TCP/IP.
This Lamborghini 500-piece limited edition will also feature Lamborghini graphics as wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones, and even has a short documentary video about the Lamborghini. No word on the price, but I’m sure it’s quite expensive. However, who knows if these collectors edition cell phones will go up in value over the next few decades.

It looks like a concept phone.. but it isn't. It looks like a hoax.. but it isn't. What this is though is the fruit of a collaboration between Samsung and Bang and Olufsen to come up with a completely novel approach to mobile phone design.
B&O Serene Combo  The Bang and Olufsen Serene has several novel features. Look at the photograph on the right and you might think that the phone was upside down. It isn't - B&O really have designed the Serene so that in general use the screen is at the bottom. This cleverly stops the screen from getting greasy when you talk on the phone. In fact, you can use the phone either way up as the handset can invert the screen display. This topsy-turvy approach probably explains the circular keypad, but what you can tell from the stills photo is that the round thing in the middle is actually a iPod-style rotator that selects menu options. The circular arrangement of keys on the Serene also conceals a loudspeaker.
We mentioned the iPod, and you'd think a handset like this would make a fantastic iPod killer, especially with the Bang and Olufsen name behind it. But the B&O Serene ins't a music phone at all. It does have a camera, but it's only a 0.3 megapixel VGA resolution device. The display is quite high resolution though, it's a 2.1" display with a wide 320x240 pixel arrangement in 262,000 colours. It has tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), a WAP 2.0 browser, email client and Bluetooth. B&O say that they wanted to keep the handset simple by including only the basics, but as the Serene will cost €1000 when it comes out, you might expect more.
There's a toblerone-shaped docking station/charger too, so that the Serene can be used on a desk. There's also a DECT docking station that allows users to synchronise the phonebook in the Serene with a B&O DECT system. The B&O Serene weighs 110 grams and measures 65x70x24mm when closed. Talktime is 3 hours with 10 days standby time.
The Bang and Olufsen Serene will be available sometime during Q4 2005 in B&O retail outlets and from selected Samsung partners in Europe, Russia and the Ukraine.

In March, Trend Hunter introduced you to the Sony Ericsson Black Diamond phone.  We liked the Black Diamond because it’s one of the hottest designs we’ve ever seen.  Now we have confirmation that the phone will enter into production AND we have a price tag.  The catch: it’ll run you $300,000.  That’s a lot for a phone that isn’t actually encrusted with diamonds.  Production will be limited th just 5 units per year.
This phone is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 with a 2-inch displa and 400MHz XScale processor.  The phone also includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 128MB of memory, an SD memory slot, and touch-sensitive keys.

Sony Ericsson Black Diamond Phone Revisited: Coming Soon for $300,000
This is Sony Ericsson’s Black Diamond, a prototype concept phone by designer Jaren Goh. Not only does it look stunning, it’s designed to come fully loaded with cutting edge edge technologies and materials. Polycarbonate skin, mirror finished cladding, OLED screen providing a ‘borderless screen’ effect and 4 megapixel camera. All theoretical, of course, as it’s just a concept mock-up, but what a stunning design!
We’ve seen Pantech’s and BenQ-Siemens’ concept phones recently, but you make me a phone like this, Sony Ericsson, and we will buy!

Vertu's Signature Cobra claims "world's ugliest phone" throne
Vertu Signature Cobra Vertu Signature Cobra
The most elite cell phone in the world, the Vertu Signature Cobra has price tag of 310,000 $. It’s designed by French jeweller Boucheron. This magnificent cell phone is studded with 18 carat gold and involves ultra high quality ceramic technology. The most luxurious feature of this cell phone is the cobra on the mobile body. The Cobra feature one pear-cut diamond, one round white diamond, two emerald eyes and 439 rubies. This phone has a ‘cheaper’ version, ruby free, at $115,000.
What's there really to know here? Small luxury phone manufacturer goes insane, slaps a pair of hugemongous diamonds, two emeralds and 439 rubies on to an absolutely garish cobra, glues it to a lame-ass phone and sells the setup for $310,000? Pretty much. We can only take solace in the fact that only 8 of these Signature Cobra phones will be made by Vertu and its partner in crime, French jeweler Boucheron. There's also a "cheap" version, the $115k Signature Python, which is due for a production run 26 strong, but if you're actually going to spring for something this ridiculous, why not go all the way, right?

The GoldVish Le Million walks ahead of iPhone Princess Plus and the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte in bearing the “wrold’s most expensive” phone tag. The GoldVish Le Million writes its name in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive phone in the world at a price of $1.45 million.
The phone is designed by the artistic hands of Emmanuel Gueit and there are only 3 units designed for the richest lot. The phone shines with 18-carat of gold and is available in rose, yellow or white gold colors and it tops it all with 120-carat diamonds encrusted all over it.
Specifications-wise the phone is a treat with 2GB memory and Quad-Band which allows the handset to used all over the world, 8x digital zoom camera with CMOS lens, MP3 player, FM radio and Bluetooth.
The phone has already been purchased by a Russian businessman for his wife. But if you cannot afford a $1.45 million, GoldVish also offers other phones which are 18k diamond-encrusted and glazed in gold and the starting prices range from $25,600.

A PR stunt it may be, and they surely can’t be expecting to sell any, but the Goldvish “Le million” is officially the most expensive mobile phone in the world, according the Guiness Books of Records. There’s even been talk of a $1.3million phone, but this has fewer diamonds than the Goldvish so I can’t see where the extra expense comes from! The “Le million” is a one off, featuring a blinding 120 carats worth of VVS-1 grade diamonds, according to designer Emmanuel Gueit. If $1 million is out of your price range. the Geneva-based Goldvish also offer several other diamond-encrusted 18k gold models in your choice of rose, yellow, or white, starting at a much more reasonable $25,600 (£13,837). ;)

Gold drops under $1360.00

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The gold bullion is enduring heavy selling pressure today, as economic optimism coupled with caution regarding the metals demand weigh on sentiment. The most active contract for February delivery has dropped to a low of $1358.10 a troy ounce most recently, and remains vulnerable to further losses before close.

Gold along with commodities in general dropped earlier today following the PBOC’s announcement of a 0.50% increase in China’s reserve ratio requirement. Monetary tightening has investors worrying about demand for the yellow metal in the Asian giant, as the central bank tries to get a hold on inflationary pressure.

Further playing on the price of gold is what seems to be robust signals regarding economic recovery in both the US and the core of Europe, weakening the demand of safe-haven alternatives. Successful bond auctions in periphery nations this past week has also helped to ease eurozone sovereign debt concerns.

New York 14/01/2011 - China's decision to increase its reserve requirement ratio by 0.5 percentage points overnight has been a major catalyst in Comex gold's two-percent drop on Friday.

Gold futures in New York were recently trading down $31.30 at $1,355.70 per ounce, which is near the day's lows.
China has become increasingly concerned about inflation, which stands at about 5.1 percent. This marks the seventh time the government has raised its reserve requirements in the past 12 months.
This type of action puts downward pressure on gold - the yellow metal is often seen as a hedge against inflation.
"That announcement started a sell-off in the commodity markets overnight. Also, we have a long weekend ahead of us so we're getting some profit taking and general lightening of commodity positions," Sterling Smith, an analyst at Country Hedging, said.
The gold market was already softened up by successful multi-billion-euro bond auctions by Portugal, Spain and Italy, he added, each of which were completed at interest rates below market expectations.
Also, US Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke said on Thursday that US GDP growth of 3-4 percent for 2011 "seems reasonable".
Back when the Fed rolled out its $600 billion quantitative easing (QE2) programme in November, it was anticipating growth in a range of 3-3.6 percent
"There might be some hangover as [those news items] built a little bit of risk premium into the market but today's sell-off was really started with China," Smith said.
"We came into the day with a black eye and they're just finishing Rocky Balboa now. That's just the nature of these markets. When they start to sell-off, buyers tend to go into hiding pretty fast, especially with a three-day weekend ahead," said Smith, who added that Friday's losses were probably a "one-day wonder".
US markets are closed on Monday for Martin Luther King, Jr Day and will reopen on Tuesday.
From a technical standpoint, $1,352 will prove to be a key area. "As long as the market can hold that, I don't see any real problems. But if we do break lower, the we could go down to around $1,325," Smith said.
Also taking a sizeable hit was Comex silver, which was down $1.048 at $28.215 per ounce for March delivery.
