N900 meetups around the world!
This October we’re planning 6 different meetups worldwide. Hosted by Nokia flagship stores in Helsinki, Moscow, London, New York, Dubai & Chicago, you’ll be able to meet and greet some Nokia folks and, of course, get hands-on experience with the Nokia N900.
Stay tuned for more event and registration information!
HTC has just launched the TattooMyHTC service, which allows users to customize a HTC Tattoo smartphone for as low as €11.99.
Since the Tattoo is HTC’s first Android smartphone to come with removable covers, customers have the freedom to make it look the way they want. By visiting the new service’s official website, you can either choose from pre-made designs that cost €11.99, or make your own design for €14.99.
At the moment, TattooMyHTC is available only for the HTC Tattoo, but more devices might be added later (assuming that HTC intros new handsets with changeable covers).
The HTC Tattoo should be available around Europe as of now, so we’ll probably see a lot of units having unique designs – literally.

The long-rumored Samsung InstinctQ has just been announced by Sprint as Samsung Moment – the first Sprint Android device to be made by Sammy.
We don’t know why Sprint ditched the Instinct branding for this new Android smartphone, but Moment sounds pretty good anyway.
The features of Samsung Moment include: 3.2 inch AMOLED touchscreen display, full QWERTY keyboard, EV-DO Rev A connectivity, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, quick access to networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr), visual voicemail, MicroSD card support up to 32GB, and an 800MHz processor.
Samsung Moment will be available from Sprint starting November 1. The smartphone is priced at $179.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $50 instant savings and a $100 mail-in-rebate. Customers can pre-register for the device on Sprint’s official website.

Not long after we saw its official specs, the LG BL20 has now been officially announced as the second New Chocolate phone (after the high-end BL40).
The BL20 will be available in the UK starting the fourth quarter of this year, via O2 (which just lost its iPhone exclusivity).
All of the phone’s features are now confirmed, including the 2.4 inch QVGA display, the 5MP autofocus camera, the touch-sensitive navigation pad and the touch-sensitive side controls.
The New Chocolate BL20 also comes with Widget Hotkeys (for quick access to news, weather or personal updates) and Clear Memo Capture, a feature that “captures text, handwritten notes and drawings with maximum clarity, offering a different way to record information.”

If a LG Lotus sequel is leaked in a forest without anyone around, does it make a sound? Probably not.
Fortunately we had PhoneArena hanging around that forest to break the story. Yes, dear readers, there is a Lotus 2 coming. If you recall, the original Lotus was the squarest phone on the block, and apparently it was rather popular. At least popular enough to merit another go-around with nicer features.
So what kind of features are we talking about in this fresh sequel? Not much that we know of yet; MicroSD support up to 32 GB (up from 12 GB) and an external touch display. If there are additional features that are upgrades from the original, we know not of them yet.
But keep in mind that we have leaked info here that doesn’t even have a pic with it yet (the included pic here is of the original), so as always we are bound to get little pieces of info here and there to satisfy lovers of all things square.
Rumored roadmaps put the Lotus 2 launch at very early in 2010.

Appeared Last week as LG Etna, the LG GW620 has just been officially announced as the South Korean’s company very first Android smartphone.
This comes shortly after LG has also announced three Windows Mobile smartphones, including the GW550 and the GM750 for Vodafone.
As previously reported, the GW20 has a full touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
According to LG’s CEO and President, Dr. Skott Ahn, “the LG GW620 will appeal to first-time smartphone customers by offering a new and different kind of user experience.”
The known specs of LG GW620 include:

So many reports have been circulating about this mysterious Apple Tablet that has been talked about for months. More and more sources seem to be jumping on the iTablet bandwagon. It’s kind of like technology’s Lock Ness Monster, if you think about it. At this point it would be an incredible disappointment to most readers if an Apple tablet did not actually show up.
The newest report from “market sources” is claiming that the iTablet (or iPad, as some are calling it) will start shipping in Q1 of 2010, and will be made by none other than Foxconn.
Foxconn, if you recall, is the company that manufactures the iPhone and was the center of an employee suicide due to the large amount of pressure he suffered from losing an iPhone prototype. It really comes as no surprise that Foxconn would be the frontrunner for the iTablet gig.
DigiTimes is reporting that there will be an initial shipment of 300,000-400,000. The tablet will have a 10.6″ display and will have a larger focus on eBooks than on music.
“The sources indicated they believe the tablet PC features will focus more on e-book functionality rather than music, and that based on Apple’s marketing strategy, long battery life, quick Internet connectivity and an easy-to-use user interface will be key features of the device.”
Long battery life? Focus on eBooks? This definitely will be covering new territory for Apple.
If Apple chooses to use the iPhone OS on the tablet, though, wouldn’t all that music functionality be built in anyway? Or will Apple cripple the tablet so that it doesn’t take away from iPod Touch/iPhone sales? Will this just be Apple’s idea of the Kindle?
So many unanswered questions, so little time. Loch Ness Monster, indeed!
Oh, and BTW – the report also mentions Hewlett-Packard is also looking into its own tablets in the spring of 2010, and coupled with Microsoft’s rumored tablet series coming out, definitely expect the competition to become intense. 2010, no doubt, will be the year of the tablet.
Today, Mobile Virtual Network Operator 3 has launched its own application store, which is currently available only in Denmark.
For the moment, the app store – apparently called 3apps – is compatible with Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, but more handsets will probably be added soon.
The store features 500 applications organized in categories like Social Networking, Business, Entertainment and Health & Fitness.
The first phone to come with 3’s app store preinstalled is the eco-friendly Sony Ericsson Naite (which was announced by O2 UK yesterday).

Not long after unveiling the Samsung Behold II, T-Mobile USA has now announced more new phones from its holiday lineup: T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition, T-Mobile Tap, Nokia 3711 and Motorola Cliq (well, we already knew that the Cliq is coming).
The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition is presented as being perfect for music lovers. This myTouch 3G remake has “a guitar-inspired wood-grain finish” and features a 3.5mm headset jack, as well as a 16GB memory card. The smartphone should be available “later this year”, coming with exclusive video and audio clips. Unfortunately, there’s no image of it available yet.
The price of T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition was not announced, but it’s probably higher than the price of the regular myTouch 3G ($149.99 on contract).
Next we have the T-Mobile Tap, which seems to be a rebranded Huawei U7510.
T-Mobile Tap features 3G, GPS, TeleNav location based services, stereo Bluetooth, and a 2MP camera. Its price and exact release date were not unveiled.

As further evidence that this is an AT&T-bound phone, the FCC approved it a while back (850/1900 3G bands included), although under the RM-455 name and with AT&T’s logo covered:
Feature-wise, the Nokia 6350 fold offers GPS, internal (QVGA) and external displays, a 2MP camera and probably S40 on board.
